IMPORTANT TO YOUR LIBERTY - 3/3/09 - As of this writing, over 30 State legislatures have introduced or passed a resolution to reassert/reclaim the sovereignty of the respective states per the 9th and 10th Amendment to the Constitution for the united States of America.  A line is being drawn in the sand.  The states of the Union ARE NOT agents of the Federal Government.  The states created the Federal Government to act as agent for the states in extremely limited circumstances.

Until very recently, West Virginia was not among the majority of states that are reclaiming their lawful status.  Fortunately, a draft resolution is now prepared and has been sent to Central Bill Drafting of the West Virginia Legislature.  The resolution needs to make it through committee and to the floor of the House of Delegates and Senate to be voted on.

Please download a copy of the West Virginia draft resolution and read it by clicking here.

The current Federal Administration is decidedly anti-gun ownership, despite the statements to the contrary during the run-up to the 2008 election.  The Obama administration is planning to reinstate the ban on semi-automatic firearms.  Some proponents of new anti-gun legislation seek provisions that would require special permits, fees for certain firearms and to require citizens to turn in banned weapons with stiff fines and prison terms for those who refuse to relinquish their 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

A free and sovereign state of the Union can not be dictated to, or have its citizens' rights infringed by a servant Federal government that we, the people of the Union states created and granted limited powers.  It does not happen...unless we let them.

"Studies have shown that criminals fear armed citizens far more than police. Their fear is reasonable since up to 3,000 criminals are lawfully killed each year by armed civilians - more than three times the number killed by the police. An additional 9,000 to 17,000 are criminals are wounded by civilians each year. In addition, more than 15 studies have shown that citizens use guns in self-defense between 800,000 and 3.6 million times annually (in the vast majority of cases merely showing the firearm wards off the attack or prevents the crime). Award-winning criminologists Gary Kleck and Mark Gertz estimated that defensive gun uses (DGUs) totaled more than 2.5 million per year. Another study sponsored by the National Institute of Justice and carried out by the Police Foundation found an even greater number of DGUs - approximately 2.73 million a year. Either figure is far larger than the number of crimes committed with firearms each year. Thus, any legislation that discourages or mistakenly disallows legally permitted persons from lawfully purchasing a firearm in a timely manner could place them, and the general public at increased risk from violent crime."

On War And The People

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany.  That is understood.  But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.  Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.  That is easy.  All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.  IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

- Nazi Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg Trials
